We were together at the office, as I worked my way through what seemed to be an endless stream of emails every day. You accompanied me to my meetings, and even joined in on my one-to-one conversations. And yes, you were present even in the most confidential discussions.
At home, you never left my side, and joined me when I was eating, when I was relaxing, and when I was working. You held me tight as I went to bed, exhausted after a long day. And you greeted me first thing in the morning – even before I opened my eyes.
During my workouts, you always lingered close by, never letting go. In fact, you left no aspect of my life untouched. Well, maybe apart from my doctor’s appointments, when you had the tendency to mellow your presence, just enough to make me question whether you were real, or merely a figment of my imagination.
